What's New

Vote early, vote often...

Of Thee I Sing...but first visit the Music/Media Library’s new exhibit, Decisions: Song, Stage and Screen on Elections and the Presidency. Featured songs from 1789-present include campaign tunes and political satire, as well as two works by Charles Ives that, through both annotations and lyrics, reflect the composer’s still-relevant observations about elections and politics in general. Stage offerings include Gershwin’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Of Thee I Sing, 1931 – containing the unforgettable song, “Who Cares?” - and Bernstein’s White House Cantata; films include Darryl Zanuck’s little-known, Oscar-nominated musical, Wilson, 1944.

50 Years of descant

descant CoverMary Couts Burnett Library celebrates 50 years of descant, the world renowned literary journal, with an exhibit beginning April 1st. The magazine, published by the TCU English Department, is a forum for finely crafted and experimental literature in the poetic and prose formats. It has printed the works of emerging and established authors since it began in 1956.
