Library Employment - Student Assistants:
Eight library departments employ student assistants to fulfill the tasks necessary to operate the Library. Job listings for available positions are listed below. To apply for any of the jobs you will need to fill out the Library Application, a PDF form that can be filled out and printed, and then bring it to the contact person.

Acquisitions Assistant
|
This position requires:
- Attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
- Computer skills
Duties include:
- Opening and distributing mail within the Acquisitions Dept.
- Unpacking boxes and distributing books to staff members
- Cutting, sorting and distributing order slips to faculty and staff members
- Using the computer to search orders in Aleph
Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to work closely with others in department
- Ability to take direction from others
- Ability to work independently in a conscientious manner when required

Music/Media Library Assistant
This position is for work-study students ONLY.
|
Job Description:
- Assist customers in locating music/media items by searching the online catalogue, finding items on shelf
and checking out materials
Duties:
- Customer Service
- Learning operation for Audio Matrix system
- Becoming familiar with Library policies, services, and staff
Specific Duties:
- Managing the circulation of music/media material
- Assisting customers with searching TCU online catalog OPAC
- Assisting customers with Audio listening/viewing equipment
- Shelving, shelf reading, and shifting scores/media
- Answering phone inquiries
General Requirements:
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to handle changing flow of traffic
- Previous customer service experience strongly desired
- Work a minimum of 8 hours per week; maximum of 20 hours per week
Terms of Employment:
- Punctuality and attendance
- One semester appointment, reviewed each semester
- Required to work from the first day of the semester through finals week
